1. After Every Heartbreak Comes a Healing:
Every girl knows that one breakup or breakups that just seemed impossible to overcome. The boy who [was] perfect, but in hind sight you realize you dodged a bullet. It’s okay to cry it out, let yourself hurt in the beginning then let your heart heal. Let him go for good. As Carrie says,“You’re holding on to someone that you gotta let go”. And before you know it as Taylor puts it, “And by morning, gone was any trace of you, I think I am finally clean”. I promise you’ll learn some valuable lessons and look back and laugh (eventually).

2. Words Hurt:
“I wish words were like little toy guns; no sting, no hurting no one”. Whether it is something someone said to you, or something you said to someone else, words are one thing in life you can never ever take back. Once they are said, it’s over. Some words are as powerful as a bullet, and some may just scratch the surface. So chose your words wisely, think before speaking and chose words that will build others up, not tear them down. Because “sorry” cannot take back what you said and “Band-aids don’t fix bullet holes”.

3. Run From the Bad Boys:
We all know them when we see them. They are the “Good time cowboy casanova’s leaning up against the record machine” They are the smooth talkers, they tell you everything you want to hear. They are the ones that you knew “We’re trouble when [they] walked in”. They tell you how beautiful you are, how special you are, and how he wants to be with you forever. “He looks like a cool drink of water, but he’s candy-coated misery. He’s the devil in disguise, a snake with blue eyes”, and he doesn’t care about who you are as a person or care about your heart. So run, run as fast as you can. Wait for the boy who pursues your heart for life, not just for the night or when it’s convenient for him.

4. Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater:
I’ll keep this one simple, there are too many boys out there to keep going back to someone who doesn’t make you their number one. Girls, don’t keep dating a boy who cheats on you. Follow Taylor’s example and, “Strike a match on all [your] wasted time”, because that is legal unlike Carrie’s idea of “A Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all four tires…”. You move on and live your life and, “Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats” on such an awesome girl as you!

5. Growing Up is Hard:
There comes a time in life when you become on your own, whether you have been there, you’re about to be, or will be in the future. And the reality is that, although it’s a fun and exciting time, it can be scary. It is overwhelming at times, and makes us miss the simpler days tucked away in our childhood beds with night-lights on. As Taylor sang, “So here I am in my new apartment in a big city, they just dropped me off. It’s so much colder than I thought it would be so I tuck myself in and turn my night-light on. I wish I’d never grown up.” Whether it’s going away to college, or moving to a new city for a job it’s never an easy transition. New places and new faces “Sure makes [you] miss home, and those bills there on the counter keep telling [you your] on [your] own.” Just know that it is okay, and it will get better. Call your family, call your friends, and if you need to cry do that too. But after a few weeks the big and scary will become the new normal and you will learn to love this new “grown-up” stage of life. Enjoy it, and embrace it!

6. Don’t Settle:
Whether it is high school or college, or maybe after this is the time to have fun in the dating world. Don’t be too serious, because the likelihood of you marrying the first boy who asks for your number is very small. Don’t settle for the first boy who shows you attention, set your standards high and make them work for it. Boys love a good chase,“It’s the thrill, it’s the hunt, it’s the love of the game”. Don’t make it easy on them ladies, because when it comes down to it, you want the guy who will fight for you. You can always tell a guy’s true feelings for you by the amount of effort they put in at the beginning when they’re trying to win your heart. Because as Taylor says, “It’s gonna be forever, or it’s gonna go down in flames…”. So play the game, and the boy who is meant for you will fight until he wins you forever!

This is a cruel world we live in ladies. People are going to beat you down when you are feeling your strongest. The world will tell you that you are not pretty enough, not tall enough, not skinny enough, not enough. But don’t listen. “You shine like a diamond and glitter like gold”, you are beautiful just the way God made you. “The players are gonna play, haters are gonna hate, heart-breakers gonna break, and the fakers are gonna fake…just shake it off” girlfriend. Don’t listen to them, you do you and march to your own drum. Don’t let anyone steal your thunder.

8. Don’t Compromise Your Dreams For Mr. Right Now:
“Cause when you’re fifteen [or 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, or 23] and somebody tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them”. It’s inevitable, because as humans, especially girls, love is the language we speak. A fairytale love story is what most girls wish for their entire life, and there is NOTHING wrong with that, however don’t place your life and dreams on hold waiting to find it. Don’t settle for Mr. Right Now when you can have Mr. Right somewhere down the road. Because he’s the one that is worth waiting for. Sometimes you can “Bet all [you have] on a thing called love and in the end it’s not enough”. Focus on your dreams, your life, and when the time comes your fairytale love story will fall into place just as God has already planned. The you’ll look back to when you were fifteen and think, “Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday, but I [am so glad I] realized some bigger dreams of mine.”

9. Some Battles Are Worth the Fight:
In life you are going to encounter things that you want to do that seem too hard, or too expensive, or too big of a risk. They don’t make sense to anyone else, but in your heart it’s a dream you want to pursue. DO IT! Try and fail. You may fail a thousand times before you finally succeed, but that is okay! “Just play on cause you’re gonna make mistakes”. Because that one dream may be “The worthwhile fight”. “It’s always worth the sacrifice, even when you think you’re wrong”, if you learn a lesson from it and it takes you one step closer to where you want to be. So keep fighting, keep pressing forward, and pursue every dream your heart desires.

10. What’s Meant To Be Will Always Find It’s Way:
No matter what you pursue in life whether it is a career, love, travel, or maybe it’s all of the above what is meant to be will always find its way. God has a perfect plan for your life and when you let Him be in control everything else falls into place the way it is supposed to. “These hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me”. Our lives are not our own, and no matter what we have planned, God’s plan is always better. He knows what we need, and sometimes He surprises us and gives us “What [we] never knew we always wanted”, because we were “Blind till [our] eyes were opened” to all that He has in store for us.
